Halo-Halo
The first Filipinos were said to have arrived in 1906. They too contributed significantly to our food culture, and it's common to see Filipino dishes at graduations, holiday parties, and just about any gathering.
Halo-Halo, or "mix-mix," is a popular Filipino dessert that has roots in Japanese cuisine.
Consisting with a base of shaved ice and condensed milk, and often layered with jellies, beans, ice cream, fruits, and more, Halo-Halo is a very versatile dessert.
