Kalbi & Kim Chee Fried Rice
In 1903, the first Koreans arrived in Hawaiʻi, and some of the Korean dishes that continue to play a huge role in today's local food culture are kim chee and kalbi.
Kim chee dates back thousands of years as a form of preservation of vegetables during the winter. Kalbi (galbi) also dates back thousands of years, and these two dishes are featured along with the local favorite, fried rice.
